ABOUT: JAMIE L WILKE
Originally hailing from the Milwaukee suburbs, Jamie brings Midwestern sensibility to his design aesthetics. The broad spectrum of his design projects has taken him from Coast to Coast, often including work for repeat clients. If there is a single word to describe Jamie’s design practice, it would be “passionate”. He thoroughly immerses himself in the challenge of every project and welcomes the opportunity to express and develop new design styles. To label his own particular style would be difficult, although his admirers would say that in everything he does, he creates an overall feeling of comfort. Clients’ comments upon entering a space that Jamie has designed always include the words “warm, inviting, breathtaking”.
His philosophy is that there are very few, if any, hardcore “rights and wrongs” in the design world; however, there are always better, more beautiful, more practical and more cost-efficient ways to execute a design. He believes in the uniqueness of each project and each individual client, and makes a point never to use the same piece of furniture or fabric in more than one project. To do so would, in his opinion, be taking a short cut; and because each of his projects are so diverse, there is no need for repetition.
Jamie is a true team player, believing strongly that the client is positively served by using a team of true professionals: architect, builder, landscape designer, interior designer, and other highly skilled trade’s people. The team provides a system of checks and balances, assuring an honest, inspired and budget-conscious result. In short, “the whole is more than the sum of its parts”. This hold true whether he’s working on a private residence, a restaurant, a retail space, a convention facility….or the interior of a luxury resort.
Being thankful is a big part of who Jamie is: thankful for a career that is rewarding and inspiring, thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in his clients’ lives; thankful to be able to bring balance and harmony to a piece of our world and make it a better place in which to live.
